Hello Everyone!
I would like to introduce myself along with everyone else. I was born and raised in NW Pennsylvania and attended Slippery Rock University for my BS in Elementary Education (K-6) and Special Education (K-12). My husband and I moved to Florida right after graduation where I taught for 10 years in three different urban schools (two elementary and one middle school).
In Florida, I earned my masters degree at the University of South Florida in Educational Leadership (administration, K-12) and also earned my National Board Certification in Early and Middle Level Literacy (ages 3-13).
This is my third year as an adjunct professor at Edinboro University. I am currently a Ph.D. student and in my last semester of course work at Kent State University in Ohio for Curriculum and Instruction with specializations in Urban Education and Literacy.
My husband and I adopted two children from Ethiopia almost three years ago. Isaac (now 4 years old) and Ava (now 3 and a half years old) are the light of my life! I love to read novels, but lately I've been only reading research for my classes at Kent.
I have supervised student teachers almost every semester I've worked at Edinboro. I love seeing student teachers grow professionally in their pedagogy and rapport with students.
My job is to help you grow as a teacher, so please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
B. Scullin
