Hello everyone! I am Kristina Mojica, and I am a senior majoring in secondary English education.
In my free time, I enjoy getting out of the house as much as possible! I am a busy-bee and do not like staying in one place for too long. To keep myself busy, I like exploring new places, traveling, eating, dancing, reading, participating in philanthropy events, crafting, working out, helping others, and spending time with my friends and sisters of my sorority, Alpha Sigma Tau. I recently got a new, orange kitten, Nala. She keeps my life interesting when I am in school.
I come from a super small town in Pennsylvania, Sharpsville. It is about an hour and fifteen minutes south from Edinboro. Most people have heard of my neighboring city, Sharon, which is famous for Reyer's Shoe Department, The Winner, and Daffin's Candy. I have two younger sisters and one older brother, who is in the Air Force in Japan.
Today marked day one of my student teaching experience. I observed and occasionally assisted my cooperating teacher with tasks, such as proofreading student work. My cooperating teacher seems super knowledgable, and I can tell she will be extremely helpful during this time. All of the students seem friendly with the teacher, and, most importantly, each other. It was definitely refreshing to see students who ALL got along with each other. I could tell they all grew up together and felt like family. I start full-on teaching tomorrow. Right now I am feeling very overwhelmed and slightly nervous. However, I am excited to start this journey!
Good luck to everyone!
Kristina,
ReplyDeleteIt is so exciting that your class has such a strong classroom community. You will be eble to fit right in and it should make for a rewarding experience. Remember it is okay to be nervous! Being afraid shows that you care about this and will have the drive to succeed. Good luck with your first lessons tomorrow. Remember, teaching isn't perfect. This is a learning experience! :)
Kristina,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sarah, that it's nice to see students all getting along. From the sounds of it, the teacher is huge contributing factor to the positive environment! Best of luck to you tomorrow! I can't wait to read about your learning experience. The story continues...
